End Horse Racing

During training, racehorses are confined in a stall about the size of a standard bedroom for up to 22 hours a day. This interrupts a horse’s natural behaviour including their normal feeding patterns, causing digestive and behavioural abnormalities. Horses need to move constantly and graze for up to 18 hours a day. Confinement also leads to horses developing abnormal behaviours due to restrictions to socialise and move freely, and can cause serious health issues such as stomach ulcers and respiratory disease.
