In today’s video we test out 9 chemicals on an end of life, ash clogged diesel particulate filter at home.
To do this test I first cut open an old DPF and cut it into small pieces, and then test each piece to see if the chemicals can dissolve the ash build-up. The chemicals tested are: Wynn’s Off Car DPF Cleaner, Drain Cleaner, Swimming Pool Acid, Dishwasher tablets, 32% Vinegar, Acetone based paint thinner, Brake Cleaner, Cola and Alloy Wheel Cleaner. Please note that these kinds of chemicals are for cleaning a filter that has been removed from a car, and should not be used for cleaning a filter on vehicle.
