Dear Denis Boulavine,
I know the difference between fertilizer and the smell of dog poo… and so do many Australians… but thank you for showing me how Wingecarribee Council is so quick to cover up complaints made to their own circle of friends.
Secondly if you would test for fertilizer in their backyard, you would find none has ever been applied to it. I bet you never even went to smell the premises. Their backyard is a rubbish dump of vehicles, why would they apply fertilizer to it.
NSW Food Authority’s Food Premises Assessment Report Guideline?
Is that what the store owner told you about the smell? … and you never bothered visiting the premises yourself?
Hard to believe NSW Food Authority allowing mouldy, run down rat infested bird infested Store that is falling apart, picture attached showing no wall in the rear of premises, including holes in roof eaves and guttering, where birds are nesting in store.
Store rats cross over my backyard at nights, my Cat is testament to the rats being caught through the night.
Please tell me how much Karen Hanratty owner of the store pays you to stay quiet?
Regards
Chris

Subject: New Berrima General Store dog feces smell
Dear Mr xxx
Thank you for your report to Wingecarribee Shire Council regarding alleged objectionable odour, as well as hygiene and food safety issues at the New Berrima General Store at 21 Argyle St, New Berrima.
I have investigated your complaint and would like to advise you that on this occasion there has been insufficient evidence to sustain any action against the New Berrima General Store. According to my observations, the alleged “faeces smell” was most likely to be associated with the application of a dynamic lifter fertiliser to the lawn at the rear of the property. Please, also be advised that the latest routine food safety inspection of this food business was undertaken on 29 July 2015. It was carried out in accordance with the current NSW Food Authority’s Food Premises Assessment Report Guideline and didn’t reveal any “critical” food safety breaches.
Your complaint has been recorded and will be reviewed by Council should new information become available which may to lead to enforcement action to ensure appropriate health standards. In accordance with the NSW privacy laws further details of the investigation cannot be provided to a third party and accordingly Council will not be able to provide this information to you.
Thank you again for bringing this matter to Council’s attention. Should you require further information, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Kind regards
Denis Boulavine Environmental Health Officer

Subject: New Berrima General Store dog feces smell
Dear Mr Mayor,
What can I do about the stench of dog feces, whenever I am at my front door?
The New Berrima Store owners never ever clean their dogs feces, and on a warm day like this weekend, I nearly vomit, every time I am at my front door and side of my house.
These people are disgusting.. their backyard used to look like a rubbish dump…. Even their shop looks so run down, I would never eat from there. Why have you never had a food inspector visit the place? This Store would have been shut down decades ago, if it was under a different council.
Regards
Chris xxx
