Animals screaming and struggling to escape.
Animals going to the knife without adequate stunning.
Animals stunned and then allowed to come round again.
Electric tongs used maliciously on the snouts, ears, tails, bodies and open mouths of pigs, resulting in the animals being given painful electric shocks.
Pigs being jabbed viciously in the face with the electric tongs.
Ewes being stunned while a lamb suckled them.
A sheep too sick to stand – or possibly already dead – being brought to slaughter in a wheelbarrow.
A pig bleeding after being deliberately hit in the face with a shackle hook.
Improperly stunned animals being stood on to keep them still while shackles were attached.
Pigs falling from the shackle line into the blood pit and then being dragged through groups of live pigs.
Animals being decapitated before the appropriate statutory time had elapsed, and while the animals may still have been alive.
Long periods elapsing between electrical stunning and ‘sticking’ (throat cutting), which increases the likelihood that animals regain consciousness. Pigs being burned with cigarettes.
In 240 hours taken throughout entire days, they only saw one vet once, checking three dead animals.
They never saw a vet anywhere near live animals.
The photo was taken at a slaughterhouse in Somerset and shows a pig screaming from an inadequate stun.

<![CDATA[Farm Animals & Pets :: Filmed by Animal Justice Project at Mere Farm Lincolnshire :: Author Jesus is King]]> 2026-02-01T00:34:05-05:00 2026-02-01T00:34:05-05:00 https://southernhighlandsnsw.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=3730&p=6281#p6281 It wasn’t just piglets who we captured being attacked at Mere Farm. A mother pig, who was trapped in a farrowing crate and had given birth the previous day, became the victim of a four-day-long assault by workers. She couldn’t stand up after delivering her piglets – babies who were quickly taken away from her.
Staff joked, “How the f*ck is she still alive?” after leaving her to suffer, unable to reach food or water. She was deprived of water for as long as 24 hours and food for over 54 hours. A torrent of abuse was unleashed upon her as workers beat her repeatedly over four long days: kicking her vulva, stamping on her stomach and stabbing her in the head with a metal spade. They left visible cuts and scrapes along her body. She couldn’t escape, trapped in the crate, and too exhausted to fight back.
She was finally dragged out of the cage by her back legs. A metal noose and a rope were used to pull her body, wrapped tightly around her legs. She thrashed around. A staff member forcibly pulled her head up using her ear and slammed her head back down onto the concrete floor. She lay there, unable to move, fading away. The worker joked, “You dying?” before laughing with his colleagues. He walked over her, standing on her stomach, and moments later she took her last breath and died.

Arla workers subjected the cows to relentless violence daily. Despite the sensitivity of a cow's udder, they were targeted in particular. We captured workers delivering hard kicks, powerful slaps, and forceful blows directly to the cows' udders. One cow was slapped on her udder 14 times in quick succession while two workers laughed at her pain.
A worker was caught on video kicking cows in their udders on four separate occasions and kicking another cow forcefully in the abdomen. It appeared to be a routine practice to slap and hit the cows on their udders to make them move, even when they were swollen and full of milk. On several occasions, a worker used a hosepipe to whip a cow on her udder and legs.
