Wingecarribee Council Seymour Park

Postby creampie » Sun Jun 28, 2009 6:03 pm

What a lovely way of placing a rubbish bin at a park.

Hope it doesn't drop on any kid... that would be one huge liability claim =p~

I thought councils fill the craters they leave after they pull trees out?

Hope no one breaks a leg or hip...... another liability claim in the waiting 8-|

This is the same council who are going to put a second skateboard ramp at Moss Vale Seymour Park.
Council has already a skateboard ramp 200 metres away (next to Moss vale pools). Now they plan for a second one, so close to each other ~x(

They will attract more beer bottles and rubbish that are already littering the Seymour Park area by teenage kids.
I've also seen clothes scattered with blood all over them near the toilets... My dog nearly stepped on broken glass from a beer bottle the other day, that no one at the council seems to clean up.

Re: Wingecarribee Council Corruption

Postby creampie » Sun Feb 06, 2011 8:23 pm

Mr Seymour donated Seymour Park to Wingecarribee Council to be used as a dog park only, but Wingecarribee Council have other plans since Mr Seymour past away.

Local Newspaper has picked up the story about Wingecarribee corruption and since then, the council is having a change of heart...

There will now be a meeting between the council and fellow residents about the dog park.

DOG lovers in Moss Vale have slammed a Wingecarribee Council plan to segregate man's best friend from others who use Seymour Park.

"First it was no kids in cafes, and then it was no horses in Bowral CBD, now it's no dogs in parks - what is this area coming to?" dog owner Neville Usher asked.

A Draft Masterplan for Seymour Park, now on exhibition at the council, proposes a fenced area to allow segregation between passive recreation and a dog leash free area.

Wingecarribee media and communications officer David Sommers said the council had a duty of care to all who wished to use Seymour Park.

"At this stage, nothing is set in stone and council is more than open to meeting with residents to discuss their concerns," he said.

"But we have a high rate of dog-related incidents reported at Seymour Park; there have been instances of dog bites and where dogs have caused distress to neighbouring livestock.

"The fenced area was seen as one way to accommodate everyone who wants to use Seymour Park."

Dog owner Alexandra Bruveris said no one was against a perimeter fence to the park, just the idea of segregating dogs to one half.

"This has long been a leash free park, one of the few left in the Southern Highlands. We don't want that to change," she said.

"The half they want the dogs in has very little shade."

Dog owner Geraldine Turner said the responsibility for each dog fell on the owner.

"We had a dog out here once that acted aggressively, so we told the owner he couldn't bring him back and he agreed," Ms Turner said.

Elizabeth and John Hardy's home backs on to the park.

“It’s just a gorgeous park, perfect for the beautiful dogs to run around in,” Mrs Hardy said.

Many of the dog owners said they believed the man responsible for leaving Seymour Park to the community did so with the wish it be enjoyed by residents and their dogs.

Wingecarribee Council could not locate the will.

Mr Sommers said staff at the council were hoping to organise a meeting with all concerned residents onsite at Seymour Park as soon as possible.

Seeing as the member for Goulbourn deals with moss Vale, anyone can voice your concerns about Seymour Park to Pru Goward here http://www.prugoward.com.au/contact
or email her: [email protected]

Re: Wingecarribee Council Seymour Park public toilets

after years of asking Wingecarribee council for a bin at park entrance, still nothing.

after years of asking Wingecarribee council for a fence around the park, still nothing.

Come to Seymour park public toilets and drink beer with your mates, and throw and smash bottles in the park.

Come to to Seymour park public toilets and shoot up heroin with your pals and feel free to drip blood all over the concrete ground with your used syringes / needles.

Wingecarribee Council ignores dog owners cries for fence

Postby creampie » Wed Feb 20, 2013 3:37 am

Dogs continue to get run over at Seymour Dog Park because corrupt Wingecarribee Council refuse to erect a dog fence on the north side of park to stop dogs running onto the main road.
